Senior Director of Policy, Wendy Tucker was quoted in The 74‘s “Special Ed Kids Were Shunted Back Online. Is It a Move to the Virtual Basement”, exploring how the shift of returning back to in-person learning has impacted students with disabilities. In the article, Tucker expresses concern about the legality of forcing special education students to continue their learning virtually:
“Is this the way you put kids with disabilities out of the general education environment? Legally, the answer is no. But unless somebody pushes back, districts are going to be able to do it, and that’s concerning.”
