On October 5, 2021 Chalkbeat Colorado released an article entitled “Special ed questions on charter school apps violate federal law, complaints allege”, about discriminatory practices. The article explores how some charter schools in the state of Colorado inquired if students received special education services on their applications. This practice violates federal law and may correlate low enrollment of students with disabilities in Colorado charter schools.
