Earlier this month CLE and NOLA Public Schools released a guide highlighting specialized programs in the district for families of students with disabilities. Currently, ten programs are run by seven charter operators and are meant for students with cognitive and intellectual disabilities. The programs are also geared toward students with disabilities that require therapeutic behavioral support and who are best served outside of a general education classroom for part of the school day.
Listen to CLE Local Policy Manager Jennifer Coco and WWNO reporter Aubri Juhasz discuss how this guide will assist families in navigating special education services in New Orleans charter schools.
